Our small but mighty group of volunteers hosted a very successful regional event in Halifax June 2-3. The weekend began with an evening meet and greet with live music by one of our dads, followed by a day of presentations and discussions. The children and teens had a wonderful day at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic with special craft and learning activities. 28 children and adults attended, representing all 4 Atlantic provinces – as well as staff from the national office and a visitor from the Toronto chapter.
Over the coming months, we will continue supporting each other and reaching out to new families through our Maritimes Turner Syndrome Facebook Group, e-mail (maritimes@turnersyndrome.ca) and our contacts in the medical community. Our goal is now is to reach at least 10 TSSC memberships in order to hold an AGM next Spring. We encourage anyone from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI or Newfoundland to get in touch with us!
